Daisugi Tree
An excellent example of a Daisugi - an ancient tree cultivation technique. The base of the tree is 400 years old, the tall thin trees growing out of the top are grown, pruned and cut every twenty years. This allows for a constant supply of wood whilst avoiding deforestation.
