Stone Sentinel

A large stone Buddha sits ensconced in an underground enclosure with only its head visible from above ground. As the sun traces its path from east to west the play of light and shadow makes for dramatic changes in the atmosphere around the meditating figure. This was taken in the late afternoon as the sun prepared to set.
