Flight of the Crow
Fifteenth century Japan was a chaotic time of civil war known as the Sengoku Jidai - the period of warring states. Dozens of small independent fiefs waged constant war for territory and resources, giving rise to the building of castles for defense. Though most castles have long since disappeared, a few of the originals remain, including this one, nicknamed “castle crow” for its stark colouring. On a calm evening it reflects perfectly in the moat below.
