Nagano in Bloom
Moments of solitude are rare enough in Japan, especially at the height of sakura season, when the whole country turns out to do hanami, or cherry blossom viewing. The spectacle evolves in stages, from budding to full bloom and the inevitable falling of the petals. In this frame taken in Nagano Prefecture, I caught the moment when there was almost as much pink below as above.
